Building Something Special
Up until the 2008 recession, Alex had worked hands-on for more than a decade in the construction business, while Katy had experience on the project management side. So, in the midst of one of the worst financial downturns in recent memory, they decided it was the right time to pool their talents, set out on their own, and open Lindin Floors.

With 3-month-old daughter Jenna in their laps, they opened a flooring store in Inman, SC. Alex installed all the flooring, and Katy did everything else. As word spread about the quality of their work and their phones started to ring more frequently, Lindin Floors expanded to include custom cabinetry, which led to kitchen and bath remodels, and ultimately, whole-home renovations.
Fast forward to today, and Alex and Katy are humbled that they now have ten crews in their employ. Looking back, they realize how lucky they are. Clearly, starting their company how and when they did was a significant risk, but as time has shown, was also definitely a risk worth taking.
